Joe Kress is the Chief Information Officer of CarepathRx, a company providing innovative pharmacy solutions to Hospital Health Systems centered on end-to-end service for all pharmacy needs including Specialty, Infusion, and continuous home solutions for all prescriptions.
Prior to this, Mr. Kress was the CIO of Advanced Home Care from January 2017 to March 2020, a regional health care services company located in the Southeast, providing specialty pharmaceuticals, infusion, home health and home medical equipment. Advanced Home Care was sold to Adapt Health and BrightSpring Health Services in February 2020.
Prior to this, Mr. Kress served as the CIO of Coram LLC, a national provider of infusion services. In January 2014, the Coram asset was sold to CVS Caremark for $2.2 Billion.
Additionally, he was Senior Vice President, Information Technology of the McKesson Corporation from 2011 to 2013, a business with over $200 billion in annual revenue. Mr. Kress also held senior IT and business roles of progressively more responsibility in the Company’s Pharmaceutical and Health Systems groups from 1996 through 2010. He spent the initial years of his career in various supply chain roles for Owens & Minor.
Mr. Kress holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Carnegie Mellon University, Tepper School of Business.
Mr. Kress was one of three award finalists for the 2018 and 2019 Charlotte CIO of the Year, Healthcare.
